Our story is a quiet acknowledgment of gratitude — a thank you to life, to the land, and to the generations before us who made this place possible.

Bringing DORO Estate to Life

Set within the wider landscape of Kapandriti and Polydendri, DORO is surrounded by forests and rolling hills. Long before our family arrived, the land already carried its own rhythm and history. At its core, it is a place shaped by land, family, and time.

It has grown from a long-standing relationship with nature and a way of life nurtured in simplicity, care, and continuity. Over the years, it has evolved into a space that holds both history and presence — where people can slow down, reconnect, and experience life in a more peaceful way.

Today, DORO is a living place for wellbeing, connection, and meaningful human experience; it is shaped by its story and its ever becoming nature.

Rooted In Family Values

Over fifty years ago, a family left Athens and began building a life here with two young children, at a time when most were moving to the city.

The land was shaped gradually through daily life — orchards and vines were planted, animals were cared for, and a self-sustaining rhythm developed over time.

Life unfolded outdoors: climbing trees, building tree houses, and exploring with friends, alongside everyday tasks like tending animals and harvesting seasonal produce. The house often filled with family gatherings around the traditional wood oven, especially at Christmas and Easter, where food, music, and conversation carried late into the night.

These early years created a deep connection to the land, along with a lasting appreciation for togetherness and freedom.

Living With the Land

That way of life continues today. The land is still cared for with rhythm and attention, producing seasonal fruits and vegetables, olive oil, preserves, and traditional goods shared with friends, neighbours, and guests.

There is a strong respect for the land and gratitude for those who have shaped it over generations. DORO now enters a new chapter — one that honours its roots while welcoming new forms of experience, learning, and connection.

We invite you to step away from the everyday, reconnect with nature, share conversation, spark creativity, and truly unwind through carefree moments together.

The gift of DORO does not belong to any one person. It belongs to all who pass through and carry a piece of it with them. We invite you to become part of its story, and to let it find a place within your own journey or path. You’re invited to start exploring the estate here!
